Good sites to book a cruise..

Ok after reviewing other holiday options we are hooked on cruising and are looking to book our next one.

Our first one we got married on, P&O Oceana, was fab round the med for 2 weeks.
Second one was P&O Ventura around the carribean 2 weeks again fab.

This time dh fancies the Royal Caribbean for a change but we are limited on dates to travel and are going round in circles with it all.
We can travel Sept, Oct, Nov or Jan, Feb March at a push but ok at start of march.

We want some things for dd to do who will be 12, the RC looks like it has everything but quite daunting as huuuge! thought the others were big!

So you cruisers any recs on any other good ships or reccomendations on places at those times of year for good weather..or equally the extreme colder but not somewhere that is supposed to be hot but is bad weather if you see what i mean!!
Thanks x

Get yourself over to the cruisecritic website and forums, masses of info there.
  • I wouldnt book over the internet, as deals come in daily and many companies are better to deal with over the phone. I have found Bolsover cruise club, cruise 118, and soveriegn cruises to be great. You ring them and they will do all the hard work for you, these companies also offer good advice and many staff have been on the cruises you are looking at, hope this helps!!
  • Oh and for dec/jan/feb/mar the carribean is at its best.

Sept you'd be good for the med, oct might be iffy for warm weather or you may get lucky.

Oct for the new england/canada cruises. Oct/nov good for Dubai/UAE.

    Thanks for the replies.

Incapuppy i will check it out thanks.

shoppaholic returns thanks for the advice but we have always but poss twice booked online as tends to beat the prices of travel agents. Our wedding one was quoted around £1300 each and we got it for under £1k, the caribbean again total was coming in at about £6k and we did it for £4k! thanks for the dates and places helps a lot.

I will find one i think and check the agents but it is also a matter of time of which i dont have much of during the week!

If you want cheap and lots of ship time then look at at a transatlantic.

We did RCI Independence 13n TA, NCL jewel 7n carribean and flight(virgin) home for £1kpp inc tips Nov dec last year.

I have personally used CruiseKings and Ideal Cruises. Another one is Gills. I have heard that some people get a good deal from Thomas Cook.

Most of the online cruise companies have an email option and will send you emails of cruise prices and special deals, CruiseKings is especially good at it.

Once you have decided on a particular cruise, ring up several agents. There is a great deal of variation in the best price they offer.

I am cruising to the Canaries in 3 weeks and then will save up again for my next cruise.

Ah now Gills is the one dd found which i was going to ask about as she thinks it is too good to be true as some really good deals!, we have currently found a very nice one BUT it is 18 nights..dd will have been at school for about a month in her new year (but at the school for over a year) and then there is dh and mine's work to sort..other than that a good price, boat etc!
