Crikey, I started this thread back in July, why more replies now? lol.

I got my ring from Ernest Jones in the end. To replace it like for like would cost £2000 now so am even more chuffed. Some have slated EJ for their service but 8 months on there isn't a thing wrong with my ring, it was sent off to be resized and my OH collected it on the day he was supposed to. The only downside is that because we chose platinum, it's doubled the price of our wedding rings lol.
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

    Hi All

mine came over the weekend, and it looks great, thats not to say is exactly what it says on the tin, i will go and get it valued this week, yes its very pretty, and packaging and GIA and Insurance valuation are all present, the banding on the ring could have been a little bit thicker, as the site shows it to be this way, but not to worry to much just now, im happy so far, and now to see what its really really worth from another jewllers.
  • Just to reply to adamsnu regarding the name on the buzzer. The name is for their parent company Neve Jewels. I don't know why they don't put Diamonds Factory on it because it must confuse a lot of people. If you're in any way worried about them being legit you can check them (and any other jewellers) out on the British Jeweller's Association web site. Money Saving Expert won't let me post the link but if you google British Jewellers Association it's the top hit then there's a box down the left to search for members. I should add that I'm not connected with Diamonds Factory in any way other than as a satisfied customer.

hi all, here is my update - i had my ring valued and it confirms what i thought, it is of good value and worth every penny the jewllers said to me, he obviously insured this for way over what i paid, yes its a diamond and of good clarity, and great colour, i paid 2k for this, and they said they would sell this for more than what i paid, but off the record.

so well pleased about all of it, and would recomend them to anyone i know

    hope this helps you

  • I brought my fiancee's ring from Quality Diamonds and there service was spot on!! I brought her a pallidium ring which is the same family at platinium with a 0.4 carat princess diamond D Clarity and VS1. paid £550 for it, recently had it valued at local jewellers and they valued it at £1400 which I thought was good stuff!!!

I would imagine that scam sites have shills to post this sort of review, so I signed up with an alias that's tied to my real name etc for anyone who might want to check. Here's my report on Diamonds Factory

Bought some diamond stud earrings for my girlfriend from this site. Checked on the British Jewellers Association website first of course, I see a pair in my price range:

    Material: 9K white gold
    Mass: 0.25Ct per diamond = 0.5 total
    Clarity: I1
    Colour: I
    Certificate: In-house by Diamonds Factory
    Price paid: £268.04 plus VAT = £321.65

I also see some on H. Samuel's site reduced from £399 to £299 (inc VAT) "9ct White Gold 1/3 Carat Diamond Stud Earrings, Product code: 5381053". I asked customer services what the colour and clarity would be, they said that their minimum colour would be H-J and the clarity is a minimum of I3.

No contest really, on December the 9th I went ahead and purchased the 0.5 carat ones from Diamonds Factory.

On Tuesday the 13th I hadn't heard anything from them other than getting my digital receipt, so I used the chat thing on their site. Gave them the order number, they told me they would be ready by Thursday and to call them to check on progress. I don't call but on Thursday evening I get an email at 8:30PM saying they've been sent by Special Delivery Next Day, guaranteed before 1PM on Friday morning. So I wait in all day Friday but Royal Mail doesn't actually deliver them until Saturday. I report this to Diamonds Factory so they can get a full refund on their special delivery!

I check the package, it contains no paper receipt, the red plastic jewellery box thing that the earrings come looks a bit naff. The only paper included is the valuation report, which is printed on rather posh Royal Executive Bond paper and lives in a little envelope with my name pencilled on the flap. Inside there's also a little ID card thing with a hologram on it and the item's details. According to the valuation report their valued price is £615.

I checked and can't see any big inclusions with my naked eye, which would suggest they're better than I2 (according to pics I saw online anyway), I don't have anything to magnify them 10x, I don't have access to an x-ray machine, I can't do thermoconductive tests, I'm not a jeweller so don't have references to check the colour, and I also know nothing about diamonds other than the research I did before buying them (this is the first time I've ever bought any). I guess I'll have to just believe they're as stated based on the BJA membership and certificate.

So far I'm pretty happy with the purchase. Even if they turn out to be I2/J or something, they're still have 17 pt more than H. Samuel's for a similar price. If they turn out to be as advertised then this is truly a much better deal than in a retail store.

I will try to remember to update this post if/when I do get them independently valued.

    Merry Christmas!

Went with my wife to their Hatton Cross Office which is inside a building with other companies. Strange thing is that their company name is not listed when you try to find the buzzer for the company (sounded dodgy to me), fortunately for us an employee of that company was just getting in.

Their ring bands which are 18 carat white gold looks like their silver plated bands on display. However I do strongly recommend in going to the shop and seeing it yourselves.

What put us more off is this unimpressive Indian sales person who seemed like he escaped from a call centre was very dull like the ring bands.

There is another internet shop called cool diamonds just beside which offer similar prices as diamonds factory are better IMO.
  • Hi all I purchased my diamond marquise engagement ring in platinum 1 carat and it's wonderful and sparkly. I found the service from the diamond factory to be excellent and it arrived well before time stated it's worth double the price I paid for it. I am in the process of ordering a diamond floating pendant from them. If you do use them you won't be disappointed. Good luck.
