Has anyone used Diamonds Factory?

They say that if something seems too good to be true then it probably is. I've found an absolutely stunning engagement ring on their site, which is everything I want but OH is uncomfortable about buying it online. Saying that, I have found another ring I really like on F Hinds site but he refuses to go to Bradford to buy it (We live near Keighley so not far way)

I'm beginning to think he's given up on the whole idea. He's just asked me what we can do this weekend, I said go shopping for my ring. He said he can't do that without the money for a ring. We have £800 saved up for it yet in the next breath he says he doesn't want to spend £1000 on my ring. That means we DO have the money for my ring.

God help me, I'm going to kill him!!!!

Can't find any reviews for the site so I really am thinking maybe OH is right, buying from the internet isn't a good idea! Advice, opinions and methods of getting away with murder greatly appreciated :D
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

    Hello,

I have been doing lots of research on places to buy rings online.

Overall I have to say Diamonds Factory offer some cheap diamonds but with diamonds you really do get what you pay for...

For example they offer I1 (very low) clarity diamonds which no high street shops stock due to the low quality of the diamond. Further to this the dimaonds are certified by themselves so they can easily overstate the quality of the diamond.

I would stay clear of them if you are buying diamonds.

I have found bluenile.co.uk and 77diamonds.com offer some very high quality diamonds which have been certified by reputable 3rd party agencies such as GIA and EGL etc... A quick Google search for either of the two websites will return you some very promising reviews!

    Good luck!
  • I have just ordered a ring from diamonds factory. They allow you to select clarity, colour and carat. Clarity is from F all the way down, so you can choose a flawless diamond if you wish. Again, colour can be chosen from D down.
I have just ordered a 1 carat D with SI1 rating (so any inclusions are not visible to the naked eye).
You can also choose to have GIA or IGI certification rather than self certification by the diamonds factory and it does not dramatically increase the cost.
My one concern was about cut, which was not specified. However, when I phoned they confirmed that they could get me a triple excellent (or Ideal) cut with IGI or GIA certificate for not significantly more money.
In short, I have ordered a certificated platinum diamond engagement ring of the same cut, colour, clarity and carat as one I had seen in the High Street, which had been reduced from about £8,500 to £6,000. Diamonds Factory could do this for £5,200, which beats anything else I could find.
I haven't got the ring yet, so will let you know and will immediately take it to a local jeweller that I know to make sure it all looks legitimate.
There is also a 30 day (so say "no quibble") money back guarantee, and they are based in London so you can actually take it back in person if you want to.
Fingers crossed, it is as good as it seems!

I actually asked for this thread to be deleted as no one answered by the time I went to get my ring. We've been engaged for 2 months now! Sorry!

I got a platinum ring with 3 diamonds adding up to half a carat. Very pleased with it, it's beautiful and cost £800.

  • Hi Screamer, did you get it from diamondsfactory in the end? I'm in a similar dilemma over whether or not to buy from them. Thanks!

  • I got my engagement ring from Diamond Manufacturers and I love it (although I got mine from their Amazon shop). Had a look on their website and my ring is there! For me the quality of the diamond was quite important, and for what I got it was about half the price of what jewellery shops in Aberdeen are charging :)
  • Hi All,
I've just received my ring from Diamonds Factory and it's beautiful! I'm delighted with it!

    Hi,

I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY....

    Why????

    Answer:

Went with my wife to their Hatton Cross Office which is inside a building with other companies. Strange thing is that their company name is not listed when you try to find the buzzer for the company (sounded dodgy to me), fortunately for us an employee of that company was just getting in.

    - Their ring bands which are 18 carat white gold looks like their silver plated bands on display. However I do strongly recommend in going to the shop and seeing it yourselves.

    - What put us more off is this unimpressive Indian sales person who seemed like he escaped from a call centre was very dull like the ring bands.

There is another internet shop called cool diamonds just beside which offer similar prices as diamonds factory are better IMO.
