Help Needed

Hi

I'm new to this website so please bear with me.. I received two separate letters for someone I have never heard of but with my full address, from Tesco mobile welcoming me to Mobile Pay Monthly on iPhone. The letters go on to say that I've chosen to connect to their 24 month contract for 45.00 per month. There was no account number or telephone number added. I contacted Tesco mobile who promised to get their fraud dept to call me back within 48hrs. No phone call transpired so I called again. The call centre operator apologised and said I would definatly receive a call within 48hrs. Again no call. I have since noticed that Tesco Mobile has done two separate credit searches on the same day for this person under my address. Sorry for the long email but I am now at my wits end. Please does anyone out there have any advice?

Hi Lindy and welcome to the site.

First of all, phone Tesco back and say that you want their Fraud department to call you back within 24 hours or you will report them to OfCom for failure to protect your interests.

Secondly, if you know that Tesco have done 2 searches, I presume you have access to Experian. If so, you can ask them to note your file that the person who Tesco are looking for is nothing to do with you.

Finally, if you get no joy from Tesco, complain to OffCom.
