Think i need vitamins as feel so tired all time.

gailey - do you make sure you drink lots in the day? I always forget to drink (I know, its stupid) but if I sit and have a bottle of water from the fridge (its from the tap though) I feel much better.

I don't know if any of you guys ever read my posts on the old thread - my poor husband had been made redundant 3 times since Jan 09 and had been out of work since April this year :(:(.

Well today he got a job :j:j:j:j:D:D:D:D he's literally just phoned me to tell me the news - and I haven't even told my family yet!! I just had to tell you guys first ;).

In brief, he had applied for a basic office job in a company who used to be one of his customers. When he went for the interview he was told the job was not suitable for him and that MD wanted to see him instead. The MD knew my OH and said that last time he had become available he had wanted to offer him a post but was beaten to it by another company - this time he wasn't going to take any chances of losing him and so has created a new managerial post (basically to become the MD's right hand man) with the long term view of possible directorship!!!!!!! YAY!!! :j:j:j I am so relieved (bit of an understatement that :o) as we are down to our last few quid and things were getting extremely tight.

Whoo hooo!! I am so happy!! :D:D:D:D:D

That's fantastic news Frugalista, and what an ego boost at a time when you OH must have really needed it. Hope you are having a glass of wine tonight. Cheers. :D

I am struggling with watching the pennies just now, I hva einjured my back and am taking one step forward two back with healing and the pain. I know its only short term, but its driving me to distraction. I am worried as I am off work sick just now, and know that I'll move onto the absence management process now, but I should be OK, however I am very unhappy there, and have been looking at jobs in other departments, hoping a change will do me good, but now this has happened, I will findd it hard persuading anyone else to take me on, regardless of my skills. Anyway, this isn't meant to be a moan about work, but about keeping my costs down when I haven't much energy or strength to do my shopping, or stand in the kitchen cooking. I have RA and normally its not too bad, as its still in its infancy, ut the backache is unbearable at times, and I struggle some days doing the basics of housework, never mind shooping and cooking for a frugal interesting meal for me and my two sons (OH is working away, chasing the pound, unfortunately). I am not a brand snob by any means, and we are veggie, although the boys like a piece of fish or chicken now and again, so it shouldn't be too dear, but I don't have the energy to be a price tart and do the rounds of the shops like I normally would. But we're definitely feeling the pinch, and I have a couple of things which I want paid off pretty soon, before they start raking up interest. I'm sorry this is so negative, I am tired and having a bad afternoon.:o

Funny you should say that :) - I have managed to squirrel away about £20 and was trying to decide if we should splash out on a takeaway or if I should hang on to it as he has to work a month in hand (and sign off Jobseekers). We don't like wine, either :o.
