Been a right washout literally in the garden today its poured almost all day including torrential rain this afternoon.

I shouldn't have put my washing out yesterday it was dry and windy til the minute it went on the line

Spent some of the time doing some more baking I need to get back in the swing of things as I've spent so much time away from home this year.

Have some serious amounts of fruit to use pears(from a veg swap at OH's work) damsons (from brothers tree) and blackberries from the garden.Think I need a jam session.

I love pear and blueberry cobbler so might do one of these and portion it up for the freezer :D
  • Overheard my son, who's quite quiet actually, simply tell a cold caller 'I'm sorry, I don't have time for this.' And he hung up.
    To him it was simple.
I was amazed. He handled it better than the rest of us and we all learned from him! :)
Finally Debt Free (£8k to zero) yay! :j :j

There was an advert on TV a few years back and there was a line in it that said 'He stole my soul'. For some strange reason my 18 month old daughter decided to constantly repeat this phrase. For a while we had JW coming round and nothing was making them stop. One day when I opened the door my daughter ran up to the man and in a very loud voice she said 'He stole my soul'. Funnily enough since then we've not had them round.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I foresee a slight problem with that. I've got a "standard English educated" voice and can swop to a "posh" one if I want to - but one look on their system at my address reveals its probably a pretty ordinary little house (which it is...) - so guess I'll have to stick to "No thank you" in "standard English" as soon as I realise its one of THOSE calls and putting the phone straight down.

If they have any idea from anywhere of my salary level as well - then they mightnt even believe I have the level of housing I have - never mind owt "posh"...

.....unless you've got any suitable ideas that would serve for a "standard" type house I could use?:);)

Well, how are they to know that 31 Acacia Avenue isn't a 15th century house? I've got an ordinary address in a worktown, and I've got a Spanish surname. But it seems to work for me.
  • Well DD2 party went really well and so I said DD1 could have a few friends to stay over last night as the tent was up anyway so house is only now returning to normal. It was a really clear sky here so we say the meteor shower really clearly. I don't know what time they went to bed as I gave up and left them lying on their backs in my garden at 1am!!
One of DD2 parents has just been made redundant - it is happening to so many people now.
M.E - that sounds like an amazing party, my DD1 is already a young leader with rainbows so is carrying it on for me :)

I took some old gold earrings and chains to one of these cash for gold places today and got £260 for bits that were just lying around in the bottom of my jewellery box. I need a new carpet so this is the start of my carpet fund.

I also just discovered Farmfoods abd can't believe the difference in the prices compared with Mr T. It's just not very convenient for me but probably worth the journey.

I remember when I first moved out I had some JW call and I let them in. I had a frey bentos pie in the oven and in the middle of their prayer plumes of thick black smoke came billowing out of the kitchen...very dramatic, and they never came back....perhaps they were worried I would try to feed them? :rotfl:

    Good morning

Was watching Sky News earlier and the reporter had bought a loaf of bread in Moscow. Apparently the price has already gone up by 20%, because of the bad wheat crop in Russia.

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
