ohmegawd :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Thank goodness the most I've ever been called on to do for workmen doing work on my home is to stick sticking plaster on their hands....I think I got off lightly by the sound of it...:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
took DS2 to the doctors - turns out hes had hand, foot and mouth, now hes got the rash the virus is heading off.
Explains why hes been off food during birthday and holiday last week. Hes eaten 3 meals a day during the last 3 days so hes on the mend. Feel bad I didnt notice it sooner but doc said you dont kno u have it till you get the visable symptons.
Made choc crunch not as good as MIL but its edible! may do flapjack tomorrow.
I sympathise with those having kid issues, DS1 who is 5 has been a little so and so these past few days, hes shattered and now were wondering if he has a virus - although that no excuse for the back chat!Mum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -

I think we might also get the fireplace sorted this year (fingers crossed). At sometime in the past, it was made smaller. I've had a look up inside it and can see that there's a large inglenook behind the fake stone tiles and concrete. We also need to get the chimney relined, so we're going to get our local place that sell stoves to do a survey and tell us how much it's going to cost to get it all done. Might have to bite the bullet and get a loan to pay for it though so that we can get it done before the winter kicks in.[/QUOTE]
We put a stove in our place and actually bought it off ebay.

Americans hunt and eat squirrels. I would personally eat anything if I was hungry. As long as it was dead.0

Glad you enjoyed it - it's one of those posts (and threads) that you really mustn't read while drinking or eating anything near the computer. (The real thanks are due to Moo2moo.)

Yes and no Gailey
I think life is getting more like it was in the past. I mean like the 20s and 30s. Jobs were hard to find and easy lost, housing was in a bad way with rents high and evictions common. So you can look to the past to help you cope with the future. (By "you" I don't mean you personally). Maybe the period from the 60s until now was just a blip with an artificially high standard of living ?
I think that. We've been brought up to think we can have anything if we work for it and the fact is we can't. It makes me shudder now when friends can't even knock up a meal out of mince or know how to get by on 'shopping from the cupboards/freezer' for a week. We've had it easy and now we have to change our ways and be a bit more realistic. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
