I have just bought a wedding dress off ebay fro a buy it now of £150 plus £4 postage, so it does at least show you there are people out there who are prepared to pay. Mine was £800 new it is a 2009 design worn once and it needs a couple of minor repairs but nothing visible and otherwise it is in pristine condition. Perhaps this is not the right time of year for people buying dresses on ebay? Maybe people are waiting for this summer's wedding dresses to be listed. Your Listing seems very thorough and informative, I cannot see any hidden reasons why people wouldn't want to buy it! Good luck with it anyway and hope it sells0

Just looked at your listing - my thoughts are to take the photographs of yourself and the OH off the listing - I think people want to imagine and envision themselves in the dress, not see it as part of someone else's 'big day' - it sort of 'confirms' the dress is second hand.
Now, I may be wrong here, as I have no interest in weddings, but I do buy second hand clothes occasionally - and I know that for some reason, illogical as it is, I do not find clothes appealing when the original owner is modelling them - I think, psychologically, we start to make comparisons with the person in the clothes - and I would also rather 'ignore' the fact clothes have been worn before (I know they have, of course, I just dont want to think about it too much!). In fact, I often even find myself thinking 'this doesnt look like it has been worn, maybe they just tried it on and didnt like it...' - I dont really want evidence that the clothes have been worn, sweated in, etc by someone else! (and I am not overly fastidious either - but if I thought about it, it could put me off)
No offence, btw, your wedding pics are lovely - but I think for selling purposes its a good idea to be as impersonal as possible - a but like selling a house, poeple want to imagine it as 'theirs', not feel they are walking into someone else's home!0 -
The p and p is still iffy. You have the courier right but you don't' have to justify it. Just put courier price is £20. You are allowed to charge more for courier so you are making it confusing. Nobody can arrange a courier unless they know the dimensions and the weight of the item boxed etc.
I find auctions work better everyone likes to think they are getting a bargain. A Buy It Now only includes those in a hurry or really fall in love with it. With the sheer amount of wedding dresses in search unless someone is looking for a particular item on buy it know and other factors yours will not stand out. How long will it be on the first page before its finished?
If it does not sell this time just wait till the next free listing day. At least you are not shelling out more money then.
Just had a look on ebay and found a listing for the dress in the states here

I like the way the dress has been described what do you think?
How about using the official photos of the dress. Everyone else seems to add them in with their own its what depersonalises them and creates an image to aspire to.

OK. Thanks. I am going to edit the listing now, and try to add the rear-shot officinal photo. I don't know what she's doing in that 2nd photo - sitting down? Makes the dress look blumming HUGE and it's it's nowhere near that big!!
Thanks all....0 -
You would think something so lovely would sell wouldn't you? Wish you all the best with it. x0

Hello,
Have you looked into shops that resell wedding dresses? One local to me is Brides Dress Revisited (in Otford, Kent), and they seem to have quite a turnover of stock. Might be worth a call to see what they think.
When I was looking they were going to be my next stop after the shop I found my dress in!
RMarried MSE style (sort of) 9/10/10 :j0 -
I just thought that I would add my two cents, having been to a bridal shop at the weekend who offered a sample sale dress with alterations and fittings and dry cleaning and some re-modling for £200 we have totally decided against the ebay route.
You dont have a place like this near you thats putting ebay buyers off buying online do you?Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0 -
put a reserve on it if you are selling it. you could also give it to a charity shop and help someone else who has very little money get a dream dress. my dress is still sitting in study, only been married 2 months right enough and im waiting to send it to dry cleaners. i am keeping myy dress incase any of my children wish to wear it in future will not offend me if they dont.:A VK :A0

oh if that was me i'd put a pic of the dress on the model looks goregous i would buy it if it had that picture rather than the ones you have up now ( nothing wrong with them but proffesional pics look goregous!)
and i also really like the american one too!
the pic on the model makes it look one piece rather than two, that tends to put a lot of people off though because two pieces can seem dated when they aren't as you know
oh and not that i reccomend this but maybe if you really want it to sell put it as 99p and get a distant friend or relative to put your miniuam amount in so that if people bid against it see that someone else wants it it make create a bidding war.
my brother has done this once or twice with items and it works although i naughty.
