I have to say that i wouldnt have looked at anything over £150 without going and trying on first. Too much money at risk IMO.

Im assuming that some people wont be able to come and try on due to distance, and some think along the same lines as me, then thats a whole load of people you'll miss out on.

I would start it for less than £100, with a £150 BIN price. Put a reserve on if you are worried about it going too cheaply.

Ive been watching a number of dresses, and the ones over £150 just seem to be popping up again and again on relistings.

Thats a very good point - sometimes things seem to reach a certain ceiling price, and I guess in this recession, getting a decent price is even harder too.

Are there any shops that would buy a 2nd hand wedding dress if it's originally an expensive designer one?

Out of interest, where is the dress located? This could affect whether people could come to try it on.
Also, what size is it? If it's a common size (I'm not sure what the range would be) I guees there would be more potential buyers.
On that note, have you put an approximate dress size in the listing title? That's how I narrow searches...

Gosh - thank you everyone so much decent advice. It really helps to hear opionions from people who have looked for dresses in this way.....

I'm going to revise the listing later today (just don't have time at the mo, I have to set off for a meeting in a min). I'm going to knock it down to a starting price of £99 with a BIN of £150. I might put a reserve on it of £120 though - seriously I would be really gutted if it went for less than £180 just due to the original price but hey, getting something for it is better than getting nothing I suppose.... OH - just had a look and I have 3 watchers with 3 days to go - I'm thinking maybe let this listing run the course, and if nothing happens revise it as I said above? Still gives me plenty of time. I also noticed when I search in ebay for the same size and designer, all the other results have much higher start prices but still none have bids?

I have no problem putting a link up here Bubbles.... here you go....

Oh and might be worth noting I changed the gallery pic this time round - before it was one of just the dress on the manequin, but I wondered if a real life pic would do the trick instead.

I don't mind honest opinions!! I'd rather know if you think something is wrong!!

Well hello!! I'm a lampworker & jewellery maker & all round bead addict too - your website is fab - I sold my hothead kit on there earlier this week to a lovely lady from Manchester and am slightly addicted to stalking peoples creations on there!! :D

    Hi hon,

Your dress is lovely! If I didn't have mine already, I'd seriously consider it! I spent over £1000 on my Maggie dress, and believe it's worth every penny.

Right i had a quick look

"**P & P IMPORTANT - Ebay has changed it's options with regards to P&P - I'm not sure why but you can't add P&P more than £4 to a listing. This dress would clearly need P&P of more than £4! I would suggest a courier service which I believe would cost in the region of £20 which MUST be added to the final auction price of the dress, or would be happy for the buyer to arrange this themselves at their own cost, or collection in person**

People like to see a clear price. Have you look at couriers yourself? I have used parcelstogo.com i think it is they are very reasonable. I had a narrow stair carpet for sale last year and no price then i bothered and suddenly i had more watchers and it sold for nearly what i paid for it. It was about a tenner to use the courier when i would not have bothered with royal mail as it was very heavy. They accept paypal as well which was handy.

Have you tried picture 7 as your gallery picture before its got lovely details and makes it stand out. Pic 2 i don't like the shape of the dress where the dress meets corset it looks off and it looks a bit to creased i would take it out.

The title get rid of stunning and put the colour. If someone is looking for a specific colour its more descriptive. Without getting to technical do you know about best match? Ebay in their wisdom decided to give values to descriptive words in the title. Things that sell well are rated by the words in the title and given values. equally if you have a poor word it can mark down your title so your lower in searches. Confused yet? its very confusing and not many people understand it i barely do!

The length if i am reading it right it would be ok for a 5ft 7 in flats or your height and heeled shoes? its confusing i would still put measurements and keep that info you put.

What shape dress is it A-line? Is the word strapless mentioned at all? I think people search by strapless.

take the veil off and sell it seperately you might get more for it that way. I think all the lengths of veil have different names not sure what waist length is might be worth findignotu as its antoher key word. If anyone ticks the box to search description they will find any of the words you can add into listing. Only put true stuff no sneaky words like ipad etc lol.

Only other thing its easier to read quickly if you make the font slightly bigger. No to big though it can be annoying .
