I had all this with Grolier - they kept sending books and I kept paying for them, stupidly. Then they starting sending CD-Roms (v.expensive ones). and the thing is, if you keep them you have to pay for them. I had to write three letters, the third threatening Trading Standards) to get them to send me return bags and I just stuck everything in them - never heard from them again. Of course, they don't have a phone number to call
get out right away - they are a scourge on society!!!!0 -

I think further up someone mentioned unsolicited mail and registering to get it stopped and that it will take a month or two to iron out and stop getting these mailings.
I recommend ripping it all up and sending it back in their pre-paid envelopes - they soon get the message! And while you're at it, if you get any junk mail without pre-paid envelopes, keep them until you do get one with an envelope and send them back as well.
I've been doing this for some time and it's cut my junk mail right down - I've also been sending flyers for a band I like just so they know how annoying it is to get stuff through that they never asked for!!!

Yes it is.
If you email them, they ignore you. If you phone it is all automated so you cannot speak to anyone.
I am now going to try writing to the address listed.LilDevil wrote:I think further up someone mentioned unsolicited mail and registering to get it stopped and that it will take a month or two to iron out and stop getting these mailings.

Yeah I already thought of that but they don't give out any prepaid envelopes!
Anyway just to make me even more infuriated - if it's possible!!
Today I got another statement. It charges me for the books, charges me for P+P for them sending them out, and charges 3 pound for the return service.
So I have to pay for books I didn't want, i have to pay for them sending them, I have to pay for them not bothering to collect the crappy things AND now I have to pay to return them by Royal Mail which will cost a fortune AND because my payment is late they will now start adding interest!!!!!!!!!
Oh and because I've not sent an order yet, they will automatically send me the Editor's Choice if they don't receive an order in the next week!!
I don't understand! Is there no way out of this??Dream of being mortgage free....
