Having seen this recommended on the main site I`ve just picked up some info about it from my local branch. According to the info it can be opened online, but I can`t find any means of doing this. Can anyone help please.

Hi I can see the super flexible ISA is that the one youre talking about?0

Oh - why are they still handing out information about it in the branch then! (Doesn`t exactly inspire confidence in Santander)

The Flexible ISA issue 2 is still availiable.
But you must either switch your currrent account to Santander or have an active Santander/A&L account with 2 direct debits.0 -
The words bargepole and touch spring to mind!!!0

No - it`s just called Flexible ISA Issue 2 - paying 3.2%. They seem to be keeping rather quiet about it. I think I`ll have to open it at the branch
I'd suggest you read (if you haven't already) some of the horror stories about the customer service side of any current Santander Group Bank.
The extra percent you might gain with one of their products doesn't really seem worth the potential agro you may end up with if things don't quite go as smooth as you would hope.
My "horror story" isn't too much of a problem - much more of an inconvenience however it is in line with the complete incompetence of the Santander Group that is continually highlighted by many people on here.
I opened a 6% (Gross) regular saver last year that ran for 13 months with interest credited after the 13th payment - closed on the 6th April 2010. No problems encountered.
Since then I have been trying without success to obtain a final Statement with Interest and Tax for the period 5/4/2010.
You would think it was a simple but it seems to be an impossible task. Of course I know how much interest has been credited but I want "proper" peice of paper detailing that together with actual Tax deducted. "It should have been sent out automatically" I've been told (which is what you would expect on the 5/4 of any year) but I've received nothing.
I finally managed to speak to somebody (in the UK) who, after some explaining of exactly what I was after said he had requested it and it would be in the post. Several weeks later I received a statement in the post - Wohoo I thought....it turned out to be period ending 5/4/2009 and the first deposit only !
Hey Ho....I tried again and this time spoke to a young girl who appeared on the ball - she didn't know what had gone on, why this or that hadn't happened but it was sorted. I was quite confident she had from the way she had dealt with things over the phone.
Whilst I was away on holiday last week it arrived...another Statement for the period ending 5/4/2009.
Its something and nothing compared to some issues people have had but I've no money deposited with this set of clowns nor do I intend to go near them any time in the forseable future.
YMMV.
