No, Hills is not full of crap! I have been working in veterinary practice for 12yrs and all mine get Hills - and no, I don't get it free or cheap off the rep!
Just for interest, a Hills employee once told me that at meat auctions, Hills have turned down meat as too poor quality, which a certain fast food group with a big yellow logo have subsequently bought :eek:I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Thanks Tankgirl, I was worried i had spent a fair bit of money on hills and wouldn't have done my cats any good. My 3 really seem to like the Hills and my eldest is a right fussy sod lol.

No probs. I think *does mental check* - yep, all the vets at work feed it to their critters too!
Hills get a lot of bad press coz they are pretty agressive with their marketing, and a lots of vet practices will be Hill Practices and offer no alternative.
At our place, we are a Hills Practice, but also offer other brands like Royal Canin, Purina, Eukanuba, James Well Beloved, even Chappie for some GIT cases - It all depends on the animal! Mine love Hills & thrive on it, as do all my colleagues pets. The other 'premium' brands are more or less equally as good though!I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I wouldn't buy Hills Science due to the ethics of the parent company (Colgate-Palmolive) but it is one of the better quality dry foods with around 50% meat content, IIRC some of the diet ones are lower. Pets at Home Purely is 40-70% meat depending which variant you choose. In the UK all meat for cat food must bne fit for human consumption. Most of the Purina (Nestle) brands have a low meat content as does James Wellbeloved (Mars); Royal Canin (also Mars) refuse to divulge the meat content. You definitely notice a lot less waste coming out of the other end with higher meat content foods - Noah went from three times a day to once a day.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
