Does someone manually post these messages, what a waste of time! Almost as sad as those counting their pennies in the savings thread.0

Regardless of what amount someone can afford to save its a good habit to be in, better than getting into debt.

:spam: Talking of Spam I have received two messages in my inbox recently. One a few days ago which could have been a genuine question but from a newbie with only one post on the wrong board, why I was sent the message I do not know.
The other I received today was definitely spam from a new member with no posts (can't remember the name as I have deleted it) this messaged contained links to other locations. I have reported this but could not see a link to block sender from further messages, is ther such a button, am I missing it? :spam:Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
If they are spaming then they are likely to have their account closed anyway.
However if not when looking at your inbox on the left hand side you will see "Edit ignore list". This prevents you seeing any posts by the people you specify, and I imagine (though don't know for sure) it will stop you getting PMs from them too.0 -

Thanks, I really must clean my glasses :rotfl:I thought I had seen an edit button before but could not find it for the life of me today :whistle:Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Then click on the posters name, choose "show more posts" and click abuse on those as well! (assuming they are all abuse that is) - that will ensure the mods realise the poster has only joined to issue spam. One mod once wrote back and said "we can't delete all posts, only those which are spam" and I had to explain that ALL that user's posts were the same post!Instead just report the post by hitting the Abuse button at the bottom right of the spam post.
Is that a fact? It appears by every post so I assumed it was individual - I keep clicking it on otherwise legitimate threadsThe spam button relies on a number of people reporting a thread as spam before automatically hiding a thread. Perhaps better to extend this system to hide individual posts as clearly the mods are taking too long to react to the flood of spam currently being received.
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -

At the time of posting back in July the Spam button referred to the whole thread. That has now changed to refer to individual posts which is much better. It means that individual posts can be removed quicker as you can hit the Spam button rather than having to report it to Abuse.0
