Maybe the told Ipoints that they should do this for nothing - that it would be "nice" for them to be mentioned on the site!

Have had email contact from another one called David Sjölin...Here's what he said anyway...

"Thank you for your email. The product test is something that we at Test&Vote do ourselves. Lately we have offered product tests for more desireable products, and the choosen testers will always get to keep the product they test. Therefore we have decided to remove the points awarded for registering for the test since we feel that the chance of getting the product is a reward in itself.

    Best regards,

    David Sjölin

You good people here know the way around the whole MSE site far better than I do - does Martin have an "ar$eh**e of the week" award that we can nominate this chap for? :)

"reward in itself"? What - one chance in how many thousand or hundreds of thousands to get an ipod, compared to at least a paltry few points for making the effort to be interested.

I do trust you will reply and tell DS where to stuff his "reward in itself"?

Has anyone sent the T&V bunch the link to this thread yet so they can see what the public really thinks of their company?

But don't you find the quick votes so interesting that you'd do those too for free... :wall:

    Dear David Sjölin,

Thank you for your prompt reply to my email. I was very interested to note your comment that:

"...the choosen testers will always get to keep the product they test. Therefore we have decided to remove the points awarded for registering for the test since we feel that the chance of getting the product is a reward in itself...."

So far the only product I've received to test is a single teabag. I don't know about you, but I don't find the prospect of retaining a used teabag to be particularly rewarding, and my chances of actually getting anything decent to test are somewhat more remote than winning the lottery.

Oh, and thanks for taking the decision not to award points for test registrations and omitting to telll the users BTW. An official announcement would have been nice. Instead you decide on this policy and then sneak it into the FAQS. Other sites would not have been so underhand.

Now that Test and Vote have removed the prospect of exchanging points for Amazon vouchers and abandoned the idea or ipoints, the only thing left to spend my points on are prize draws for money, prize draws for iTunes vouchers or Pixmania and/or HMV vouchers, neither of which I am ever likely to use (and the sites are expensive anyway).

I have personally given up on your site. It takes months to collect points which can only be exchanged for remote chances of winning a prize or onlline vouchers for expensive sites. I might just as well spend my time at other sites like Quidco or ipoints. At least their points can be exchanged for DECENT prizes or actual money.

I am voting with my feet. You can stick your site and close my account. You are honestly the WORST value points site on the internet. I am posting a copy of this email on the moneysaving expert forum where it will no doubt be seen by thousands of T&V users. I hope they also close their accounts in protest. You can checkout the forum at:

I am also reporting your site to:

as I believe your rewards are a scam and I hope it deters anyone else from joining you. I will also be posting an unfavourable opinion on your site on Ciao.

I have never known a site which remained so totally out of touch with its users.

    Yours in disgust.........

I won a phone over a month ago, and it hasn't arrived.

I received an email acknowledging the problem, but since then nothing.

    Who should I contact?

    Thanks

    I won it of T&V!

What should I do about it?

    Thankyou.

Don't really worry about the site too much these days. Haven't seen a survey in ages. Rewards are now completely useless. Don't get points for registering for a test. Never received a test anyway and I've been a 'member' for yonks.

I'll simply ignore them until things improve. They'll soon twig when they realise that their active user base has fallen.

Have been trying to do quick votes and registrations on both UK and French sites today, but every click has led to an error message, in both languages.

I had a reply from David Sjölin today, confirming that they will "soon" be adding iPoints.
