You will get a final LHA payment as that is paid in arrears. Use THAT as your rent in advance.0

We are in the same position, but unfortunately as i work full time and have to pay full rent we don't qualify for any Housing Benefit.
We too have been given 2 months notice, no reason given by LL, we have spent a lot of money on his house to make it our home, with his permission as he has always confirmed from the beginning that this was a long lease.
Now we have to find 6 wks deposit plus a month in advance, we don't get our deposit back until 10 days after final check out.
Any ideas what we do, we have to find over £2000, working people don't have that on a tree in the garden.
If I didn't work I suppose I would be helped, penalised again!
Just a little cynical and really really peed off.0 -

As the other poster on this thread indicates, your emplyment status makes little difference. If anything, it is often easier to find rented accommodation if you are working, so the advantage, if any, will tend to swing your way. As for the rent in advance? Well, that should be easy as you would normaly pay for next month in advance, so you won't need to pay the current LL at the end of the tenancy, and you can pay that money to the new LL. Sadly, the delay with the deposit is always going to be tricky (even if you didn't work). It might be worth arranging the check-out inspection a few days early to see if the deposit delay can be kept to a minimum. If all is well, get the new LL to speak to the curent LL and he may decide to wait a few days for a deposit from a good tenant.0 -

What they have done, they have done. YOU need to react to it now for the sake of your new family. Get the last HB payment paid to you, the deposit returned and move on.0 -
