All-sorts of reasons debrag. In this case the Op looks to be quite a reasonable person and I don't think that there has been flack to become upset with nasty posters. I am guessing that they wish to show the replies to the young lady or the parents but do not wish to disclose the personal information given.

    But, what do I know?

I don't remember a history or depression and self harm being mentioned but as the OP has seen fit to delete all her posts (how helpful!)
    there's no way of checking.

The posts were removed at my daughters request. Purely because she was worried someone she knew might identify her friend from them.
I recieved a very helpful pm from Smileyt which we will follow up and the other advice we recieved has been great.

Thank you to everyone who offered advice.
She's staying with us over the weekend and Monday morning I will be going with her to discuss her options with a housing officer. Thanks to the forum I've been given names of orginisations to contact who I had never heard of before, so I will see what help they can offer her.
She has said she would like to rent somewhere privately. If that is what she decides to do, I will put her up while she sorts her finances out.
    Once again thanks to everyone.
