Receiving email as text message
Options
Does anyone know if a UK registered PAYG mobile from Tesco is able to receive emails in the form of a text message? Apparently, this is fairly standard in the US, and from what I've gathered online, should work in the UK, by using yourmobilenumber@tesco.co.uk, for example. I've tried every permutation of address I can think of, but nothing works!

This worked a few years ago when you couldn't get emails on your phone, I don't think it is possible now. I used to use this service until I got an email capable phone, you can send and receive emails by text. http://sms2email.com/0

Thanks for the info. It's a shame if it no longer works.0

I think one reason it's common in the US is that you have to pay to receive texts over there, whereas over here you don't. Therefore it makes money for the US firms, but costs money for UK firms. Why pay more than you have to?0

Try mmail, although it's listed as an o2 service it should work singlepoint.mavadatest.co.uk/mobile_fun/index.asp?catid=297&pcatid=4&subcatid=3040
