We're moving out of our rented flat in just under a month. Our LL lives in Spain so when he asked us if we could show potential tenants around we said fine.

However, there have already been 9 viewings (in just over a week) and he has lined up another 2 for tomorrow.

I understand that he has to re-let his flat, but this could go on and on, and he gets annoyed with me when I say we can't do a viewing at a certain time (me and my partner both work full time and long hours).

I'm basically wondering how much intrusion is reasonable?

He doesn't have to relet the flat with tenants in situ, he wants to. You have the right to quiet enjoyment which means you can legally refuse all viewings if you so desire. He's got a cheek to get annoyed given the circumstances.

Why not tell him you'll charge £50 per hour for viewings. That might make him think ;)

    You have been very accommodating.

Personally, I would not entertain the idea of allowing a prospective tenant into the property unless the time was convenient and the LL (or his agent) was present to conduct the viewing.

Your time is too valuable to allow yourself to become unpaid labour for your LL's business.

Ask for a reduction in your final months rent as you have been (and will be) so accomodating to helping him sort his business interests

I would say yes, but say that you expect, say, 50% reduction if your last month's rent for doing so?
