^^ Back pre-90's red cars faded like nobodies business.... These days it's not so bad.

However, you have to look after your paintwork! washing with washing up liquid for example will ruin it regardless of color. You need a layer of wax to reflect the suns UV and prevent discoloration.

My mate does live right on the west coast of Scotland possibly he needs to find something that reduces salt abrasion.

My red Capri used to fade. I had it resprayed 3 years ago and that's been fine. I had a red 1980's Passat that also used to fade. My current car is a red Mondeo and the outside is the same colour as the inside of the doors, even though its now 6 years old.

TBH, its not the problem it was in the 80's and 90's.

Most pink cars that you see have probably never seen any polish. Just clean the car with a basic cleaning product, ie. not one that inlcudes some sort of wax, then use a good wax (wax on, wax off!) to put a protective coat on your paint. Twice a year would be nice, and not on a sunny day. The instructions are on the bottle!

I can't quite figure why red cars, (in solid paint should be a problem), but they are. Blame the visible scotu/ sorry spectrums.

It goes orange, it oxidises, and comes out 20 different colours under sulphur street lighting. ???????????????????

No issues, don't buy a rede car, simples meercats,?
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

I use the Meguires, cos it's handy.... My partner's a detailer- I try to leave it in a state where he details it. Usually only takes a few days!
I'm handier at repairs/ maintenance- cleaning and polishing bores me!

Dont park it in the sun, Shouldnt be too hard lol.

If it rains whilst sunny get out there and dry it, That bleaches the paint quickly.

.......and all the other concerns ... really don't understand it ... see my post number 6 ... no car/colour should be a problem .. just needs ...... less than half an hour...... at about £2 a time .. twice a year ...

My car always lives outside in the wet & windy north ... my current 8 year old car is looking as good as the day i bought it.

Really is one of the simplest / cheapest ways .
