Help with dishwasher please..

I have a nine month old dishwasher, its started to make very odd noises at certain points of the cycle. I have checked the filter incase its something in there rattling about, but can find nothing.
Ive contacted the comapny (as its in guarantee) and they have confirmed that if they visit, and there is no actual fault with the machine, I will have to pay £140 !!
Im therefore wanting to see if I can trouble shoot this myself, incase its not an actual fault, but dont know where to start! Can anyone recommend a good 'do it yourself' website or forum that might help please?

Oh, Thanks Frankhopper, that makes sense, as the noise could be at the points when its draining! :T (im guessing the pump does that?)
I'll get my OH to try and have a look at the pump (he hides the spanners from me), thanks for the link too, keep your fingers crossed!

A nice little earner ! Which company is this ? They deserve a little publicity to advertise their "customer care" services.........0 -

...its Indesit, but I assume most companies are the same really. If you call them out for a fault and there is no real 'fault' they have had a wasted journey, even if item is under a year old. But as my dishwasher only cost £299, I dont really want to risk paying nearly half the price I paid for it, just incase it is just a foreign body in there!0
