I never thought about yearly mortgage pots before ... But I can deff see the advantage ... I tend to wait till my yearly statement comes in ... Do u reduce your time or amount with your pot ? I'm due to remortgaged next year and think I will put the excess towards term reduction

I used to save it and make an overpayment when I got to £500 (minimum amount allowed), but then because I was moving I just saved it so I could use it for solicitors fees etc. However now that the move is off I may make an overpayment with it (I still have savings in my isas for emergencies), and start again with this new pot.

I will probably keep some of it, maybe pay off £5k, and keep the rest for matched betting float as the season starts again in a couple of weeks :D

I reduce the term, I keep my monthly payments the same as I reckon that if I can pay them comfortably I'm trying to get it all gone by my 40th birthday (3 years away). I'm just off to create myself a new chart, a bit like Hypnos one with swuares, I reckon as I'm now down to £35k-ish then I am going to focus on it £100 at a time and get colouring in :D;)

Just been playing around with the mortgage calculator and if I can make £1000 by the end of August and then save £400 each month for the rest of the year then I will meet my target for the year of getting the mortgage down to £32k :j:j However, £400 will be incredibly hard to do if the maintenace payments do/have stopped. While they are coming in though then every penny of it will be saved :D I suddenly feel quite motivated again to get some money made from wherever possible, must sort out some ebay bits this week too ;)
