    I'd say yes to the Wii - if you can invest in the Wii Fit as well then you've got added incentive to keep fit on those rainy days and your DS can keep active with it too.

    We love ours, I'd say it gets used at least 3/4 times a week for games and Wii fit and we use it quite often to connect to I-player too.

    Sorry if that adds to the confusion.

    The Wii is a definate no-no I decided, I didn't use it much last time round and am sure it won't be much different now ... I did have a wii fit and hardly used that either but managed to sell both for more than I paid for them ;)

    We have been out on our bikes, we did 7 miles through the forest, it was lovely although not as sunny as it has been. Ds kept up the whole way, was really proud of him :T

    Then we watched a few trains, took the stuff back to Next and fed the guinea-pigs (mums away for a few days). Now we're gonna veg for the evening, oh and a certain friend is online already, he's at work at the moment (12.30ish over there) :D:D

    I really need to end these chats with friend a bit earlier, I didn't go to bed til 1.30 am last night and am knakcered now :o The time difference makes it tricky though ...

    Its raining here this morning, had almost forgotten what rain looked like :) We are supposed to be going to the rotary fete later on but will see if it clears up first. Other than that its mainly a housework / food shopping kinda day today.

    I have figured out the budget for August, I'm working on the assumption that I won't get any money from ex again so if I do get any then that will be going into a new savings pot. I don't have afterschool club / breakfast club to pay for this month so that money can be used for day to day stuff. Basically after all the bills it leaves me with £200 for food, £60 for petrol and £206 for general day-to-day stuff, which is actually quite a lot. It does mean however that if I don'tget any money from him then there will be nothing going into the savings pot.

    I'm planning on August being a one month focus on losing half a stone, sticking within the budget and generally getting back to the good old moneysaving / moneymaking ways. I don't have a huge amount of activities planned so far that involves lots of money, we're off to London for a day but the tickets are already paid for, just food and stuff on the day to worry about. Other than that most other things we've got booked in are free / cheap ;) Am sure the money will disappear quick enough anyway but will try my best to stay on track :)

    With regard to the asvings pot I have received the stuff through about opening a new isa so will look into that later and then I think I am going to start with a new savings record and see how I go, just becausethe old one used to have £200+ going in at the beginning of the month and I dont want to feel like I'm falling behind with it if that makes sense?

    So, today I am going to move money into the right accounts, balance the books so that all accounts have the amount in them they should even if this means I have to dip into the mortgage pot, and then as from tomorrow I can start a new month and a new year from scratch :D

    Okay, time for one of those getting straight posts;

    I have added up what money I have in various accounts and in total I have £7530. I still have £143 of stuff waiting to go out (mainly a cheque for breakfast club that they take forever to pay in), and the mortgagepot should now have £7629 in it. There is a shortfall of £242.

    According to the csa I *should* receive £438 in August from ex, of this £242 will be put into the mortgage pot to get that back to where it should be, the rest will go into my new mortgage pot. I know it sounds daft having a separate one but I want to see it as a fresh start ;):)

    If the maintenance doesn't arrive in August then I will just have to accept that the old mortgage pot has a lowr amount in than I thought. But as from now I am starting from scratch, with £0 in the new mortgage fund and I am aiming to save £1000 by the 1st September :eek: This actually should be achievable; I should have £196spare from the maintenance (assuming he pays),I also get 2 lots of tax credits payments this month (every 4 weeks and this is that lovelymonth of they year when I get 2 lots :j), so thats nearly £500 from there :D I am also waiting for £30 cheque from a survey site and £20 from a world cup promo. So if all these things arrive then that will be £741 :D:D Fingers crossed ;)

    I will change my signature and my yearly target of saving £9500 will still be in place, I will just record the figures slightly differently on here. Off to update my signature ...
