Yep, many times, and he has sessions at school to help him with his anger, but it doesn't seem to be doing much tbh :o He knows when he's getting angry to (a) get some string and shred it (?), (b) go and sit somewhere quietly on his own, (c) get out one of his train maps and study it (distraction). The first and third only really work when we're at home, but its catching him before he gets too angry to calm down, he can be fine one minute and then off the scale seconds later :(

When he's calm he knows what he needs to do but unfortunately doing it in the heat of the moment is another thing entirely. Me reminding him what to do just winds him up even more :o I'm hoping that this will be a decent enough incentive for him to try harder :)

Morning all, sun is shining again :)
Ds seems to have really taken on board about our chat last night, he is falling over himself trying to be good :D Although he seemed to let it out in his sleep instead last night, he woke me up several times, yelling 'shut up!' and then when I went to look at him he was thrashing round the bed in his sleep :D

Todays plan involves moving the guinea pigs over to my mums for the summer, she keeps moaning about having to cut the grass and that she misses them, so they will go back there while the weather is nice. Not too sure what the dog will make of them though :)

After that we're going to go out for the day with mum and dad, no doubt involving trains or buses at some point ;) I'm also waiting to hear today or tomorrow from the csa to see whether he has made his payment or not, place your bets

  • Morning Benben glad Ds has woken up in a lovely mood. How is the dog, is it the next best thing to having your own because I know you have said you would love one? Will the guinea pigs eat the grass? I know nothing about guinea pigs as you can see :o I would have assumed they would have found a gap and run off if you let them in the garden :p

Have a nice day off x

Mum has a handyman who made them a brilliant run last summer. She moves it around the garden so hey get some sun and some shade. Each day they nibble the grass so much that it doesn't need cutting for ages, it just means that for the first week or two she has a very uneven garden with some bits long and others bald :D They love it there, they go in her summerhouse in the evening in their hutch. The dog will probably take no notice, he's been here and has ignored them, just looked at them funny when they squeak :)

It is nice, mum says we share the dog and whenever ds wants to see it we go over and take it for a walk etc, so he is getting the fun of a dog without actually having it all the time :T

Hi BB glad to see your getting on with that humongous list !!

Hope you and DS have a good day and all the best with the sticker chart
For what it's worth I think you do a fantastic job with him and his temper tantrums (from what little knowledge I have !)
Your consistent reinforcement that it is not acceptable will be just what he needs and it will click with hm that it is not the correct way to behave
It does just take some longer than others and you have treated it without violence or harm I'm sure it will pay dividends when he is older and understands
Sorry I hope you don't think I'm preaching but you do a fantastic job and I feel very sad when you are down about it when you consider what a monumental **** up some parents
make because they can't be bothered it makes me so:mad::mad::mad:

Home from an exhausting day out, we went to Swanage, which is a gorgeous town near here, we went on the bus (of course) and the little ferry, then watched steam trains once we got there :) Mum and Dad came with us and we had a lovely day :D

I have a headache now, too much sun I think, and am going in the bath in a minute before I start planning what to wear tomorrow ;) Ds has a dentist appointment in the morning, then he's going to holiday club in the afternoon and me and crouchy are going for a picnic and then who knows after that ;):p

Thankyou Stressedaah and FF, ds has tried hard again today, we had a couple of 'I want' moments, but he has kept his temper in check :T

And for anyone wondering, I haven't had the call from the csa yet to say muppet has paid

Thankyou Stressedaah, I am looking forward to it, although am pretty nervous too :o I need to go picnic food shopping on the way back from the dentist with ds in the morning. At the moment I think we'll be eating kitkats and cheerios having looked in my cupboards :rotfl:
