An hour and a half in and I seem to have done loads but the list isn't looking much shorter yet :o The kitchen and bathroom have both been deepcleaned, the bathroom is sparkling like a new pin but the only bits I haven't done in there yet are gutting the two small cupboard, which are the bits on the list :o Never mind, once I know the place is all clean and sparkly it will be much easier to get the extra jobs done.

Stopping for some breakfast now, looks like it will be a nice day out today too, so want to get as much done as possible so I can go out with ds this afternoon :)

Re your list Benben is there anything on there that you dread doing or put off and do the more (for want of a better word) the more enjoyable ones first?

If there is then according to the chat going on on Firewalkers thread (who is reading Eat that Frog) then you should do the most dreaded/difficult job first thing and then you will have more energy for everything else so maybe you could try that.....I know I certainly need to!!!

Theres none that I especially dread KM< but some lead on to others if that makes sense, and its finding the time to be able to start it and complete it as if I leave it halfway then I end up in a worse mess than if I hadn't even started :)

I'm currently tackling my paperwork cupboard, its not too bad but risks getting out of hand if I don't keep on top of it regularly. Once thats done then I need to think through the storage in my room and make sure I'm maximising it before i start gutting all my clothes :D

I will go and have a read of that though in a bit when I stop for lunch, thankyou :)

Paperwork is filed away, just a small pile of stuff to action left. All my bedroom drawers have been sorted and a bin liner filled with junk / odd socks etc :) They are now easy to open and close and I found several items I'd forgotten I even owned :T

Had a quick shower, now time for some lunch before I dry my hair and then I'll see if theres time to get some more done before collecting ds at 3 :)

Today has been quite successful in terms of my list, and more so in terms of my head, I feel less stressed already, just knowing the place is less cluttered :D Theres still quite a bit to be done but I know I have made a lot of progress today and am happy with that. I will update the list in a minute ...

In other news, I had a good chat with ds when he came home about his behaviour and we have decided to set up another reward chart. This one will be quite simple, basically he has to go a whole week without a meltdown and then he will earn a ride on a bus or a train on the saturday. So today counts as day one and so far so good :T Long way to go but he is already planning where we will go next saturday :) I don't mind, I'm happy to go on buses and trains all day if it curbs the behaviour issues; I think it must be my fault, I must give in too often to him, let him have his own way, so from now on it changes, he needs to learn and learn fast :)

Also, have arranged for mum to pick ds up from holiday club on tuesday, so I can have all afternoon and err, well night ;) with crouchy :D

Right, time for another list update ...

  • You're doing well with the list but then you are always good with a list, you seem to get so much done you put me to shame.

Glad you've had a chat with DS. What does his melt down consist of, is it anger?

Complete losing the plot, anger, screaming, hitting me .... He totally loses the plot, nothing calms him down at all / stops it until he wears himself out with it :(:(

Chicken is roasting nicely, ironing is done and put away, why do I not remember to put all these things on the list  :) Last lot of washing is nearly finished, then I can clean the machine, run it on an empty cycle / clean the filters etc. The dishwasher will have to wait as its half full again.

  • Have you spoke to him about what he 'can' do when he feels upset ie alternative more healthy coping skills?
