Hi
I have just moved into my new home and keep seeing these little bugs scurrying around the place; in the kitchen, my cupboards, my hi-fi, my computer etc. i only ever see them one at a time and they are quite pale in colour.
Any idea what they could be, what could be causing them and how I can get rid of them?
Because i am a new member I am not allowed to post pics apparently, I have uploaded one to photobucket at the link below

I note you've called the album 'silverfish'...?! Because that's what I was going to suggest they might be. They move very quickly, look silvery/grey in colour (sort of like small moths) and have whiskery bits. If you have an infestation, I gather they're tricky to get rid of and it might be a job for a professional pest controller. One year during the summer holidays, silverfish were found in our domestic science kitchens in the drystore - everything had to be thrown away and a company came in to spray the whole block.0

That picture doesn't look like a silverfish to me. Silverfish have tapered tails - like fish, in fact - whereas the insect in the picture has a rounded body. I don't know what it is though, unfortunately.0

Have you tried somewhere like this site?

try googling identify insects for more choices

That looks like a cockroach to me. *shudder*"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Its odd that you have only seen them one at atime, but if there are young ones, they are breeding!
Have a look at this link, scroll past the ads and blurb to the advice section...

It looks very much like a juvenile cockroach (if the pic comes up a bit small change your zoom level to 400 to get a good look at it)
