BT Call Plan charges
Comments

Just got off the phone from speaking to someone in India. I've been told that as I'm on the "Unlimited Weekend" plan that I have to make at least 2 "chargeable" calls per month otherwise I will incur a £1.00 charge. The person I spoke to apologised for the confusion over the wording on my bill - told me to ignore the word "inclusive" as it didn't really mean that!!!!!!!!! As a goodwill gesture they will refund the £1.00 charge on this occasion. Really bizarre!!
From BTs website ;- (click on "learn more" under the "Unlimited Weekend Calling Plan"),
"The Unlimited Weekend Plan includes:
BT Answer 1571 voicemail Our voicemail service – listen to your messages over the phone for no extra cost when you sign up"
Makes no mention of chargeable or inclusive calls.
.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
The only bizarre thing about it is that BT hierarchy have not yet terminated their disastrous use of personnel in India with their personal and usually inaccurate interpretation of BT's T&Cs.Just got off the phone from speaking to someone in India. Couple that with allowing their personnel to participate in forums such as this but never providing useful information and you can quickly see why BT is so despised.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

I think BT may have changed their T&C's regardling chargeable and inclusive calls as the web site now says you have to make 2 chargable calls per month or bt reserve the right to charge for 1571 and caller display..then goes on to state chargable calls have a connection fee, so if you have a anytime call plan then presumably you would have to ring a mobile or a 0844 or similar number to keep from being charged, or evenings/weekend plans you could call ordinary numbers during the day.0

That has been the condition with these two services for some while now.
There is no truth in the rumour BT are extending this to include eating or breathing!

there is a call set-up fee except when
So the website should say "Chargeable calls have a set-up fee, except when they don't". But their humour is little better than mine so instead they opt for imprecision and inaccuracy.UK Day, Evening and Weekend geographic, 0870, g21 rate and Local NTS calls where the pence per minute (ppm) rate has been set to zero for the first hour of each call (or to such calls which start within the uncharged period but end after the uncharged period)0 -
I have to make at least 2 chargeable calls per month otherwise BT will charge me £1.00 for having 1571. That's 20 calls through 18185.
I suggest BT get their act together and sort out their website. Different parts of their website say different things. At least they will avoid alienating some customers. I've cancelled my 1571 and installed an answer machine. It's the principle of the matter!0 -
And thank you to everyone on here for making a contribution, apart from the BT Rep. Why can't the BT Rep explain on this forum, in plain English, exactly what the position is with the different plans. They may then earn some respect from the customers who pay their salaries!0
