As it happens the family member who will be shocked one day to learn this works as a sec for a firm of solicitors. Should she want to contest it one day it wont cost her anything no doubt, but it leaves us all in worry that we may have a battle on our hands. The solicitor told my mum if this member of the family (daugter) is not in the will thats sufficient enough? Just wondered if it really would be or should she had stipulated this will should not be contested by XXX?
Just because she works in a solicitors office, it doesn't mean she could challenge the Will for free. I think it should be specified and the solicitor should have a note of the reasoning, but as long as she is specifically not mentioned, i.e. nothing general to my children, it will be sufficient.
If there was a fall out years ago, i doubt the family member will be very shocked not to be included.0 -

Yet more money to the lawyers then - they do love a good dispute. I think the better idea is for the Will not to mention the lack of gift, but to have a separate letter kept with the Will with the reasoning. The executors can then produce it to the court if required without the involvement of solicitors and the inevitable payment of legal fees. :T0 -

If you or your partner are a member of a trade union you will likely find the union solicitors can arrange a will as part of your union benefits at no cost to the member.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

I had been looking to write a will for a long time and have tried a few websites before I stumbled upon this: onecertainty.com
It was free to join and within 10 minutes I had made my completed my will, it cost £14.99!!.
Looking through the website I could also plan my funeral service, record video messages to be played when i'm gone and write letters to my family. I found the website really easy to use and would recommend it to others.0
