Where do you buy a wedding dress from?

Hi, first off congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I got my wedding dress from Monsoon and absolutely love it. I really was spoilt for choice. My best friend advised me to try on everything even the ones that don't look like much on the hanger. She was right! The one I chose makes me feel like a goddess in it but I wasn't initially keen before I tried it.
Can I also recommend that you read the chapter on weddings in India Knight's The Thrift Book. You should be able to get it out of your local library, it's a great book anyway ( I borrowed it from my library on 3 occasions then bought it using an Amazon voucherr I earned doing online surveys ) Best of luck finding the one that makes you feel amazing.First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.0 -

I'm not sure where you are based, but if you are near one of these shops it is worth a try -
http://www.barnardos.org.uk/shop/shops/brides_by_appointment.htm
They are shops run by Barnados which have loads of sample dresses & end of line dresses donated to them by bridal shops - so they are new, but a heck of a lot cheaper! I got my dress from the Edinburgh shop for £200 but it should have been £800 - and it was my favourite in comparison to many other shops!
Would recommend looking there if you can, really relaxed staff and an amazing range of dresses at a decent price. They also sell veils etc as well.
Another option may be the Wedding Sale -

I was planning to go to the last one, but found my dress the day before. Not sure what it is like, but they seem to be across the country so may be worth a look.0 -
Oh no
I just measured myself
I'm 38" (across the bust), 34" on the waist and 38" on the hips. I might just wear a kaftan. None of the dresses will fit me properly. (I think it's the right measurement but I really am a UK size 12-14 in normal clothes)
Are bridal dresses made small??0 -
I got my san patrick dress on Ebay. I searched by buy it nows and newly listed to find it. It was an unbelivably low price and its new with tags and they included the new veil
.
I also filtered out non uk sellers its on the left hand side half way down.0
