Travel to multiple destinations in SE Asia

Hi
We plan to visit a relative in Hong Kong & friends in Laos and want to combine the trip with visits to Cambodia, Thailand, possibly Vietnam & Malaysia. Any advice re most economical way of
a. travelling to & from SE Asia if we want to arrive & depart from different countries
b. travelling between SE Asian countries
We're not committed to specific dates, but are thinking Oct/Nov is best weatherwise.
