Would you use a dog Stroller ?

I posted this as I am in need of one but I dont want to feel silly ppushing one .I have a couple of dogs , one of them can only wal short distances and then i have to carry him .Its unfair to take one out for a short walk then leaving the other in and going out again I usually go for a walk then carry my other one home ( but end up with a dead arm in the process) .
Im thinking of getting a dog stroller but am looing for one that does not resemble a pushchair - so i dont look like some looney woman who treats dogs like babies .
Ive found one here .

    No.

My old dog stays at home with a special bone when me and the youngsters go out. I think of it as his 'me' time - he thinks of it as WAHOOOOOOOO bones!
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D

Dont do it, you will look like some loony with a dog in a pushchair, lol. Honest Id leave the older one at home, as norbertsmum says, give him a nice bone so he sees it as a treat.

I say do it, why shouldnt he get some fresh air too, who cares what other people think?!

Theres a lady by me that takes her dog around the park in a really old simple kids pushchair. Just one of those lightweight folding types. Everyone knows her, her dog is adorable and he really enjoys himself. He has a blanket on the chair to lie on and i think its pretty obvious that she isnt pushing him around because she thinks hes a baby but that hes incapable of walking by himself! Poor thing really suffers with arthritis so cant walk far on his own but love love loves his pushchair walks!

I wouldn't. Sorry very superficial, but I would feel silly. I don't see anything wrong with getting one though (just not for me :)).

That picture to me looks just like a pushchair, so perhaps it would be cheaper to buy a kids stroller.
  • My 2 dogs weigh in at a total of 27 stone so I would use 2 supermarket trolleys and a horse to pull it!!!!

Seriously, I don't see a problem unless you get one of those really stupid fashion n' fluffy ones....I wouldn't fancy carrying a dog back from a walk if it got to tired....

I'd do anything for my dog and so yes, even though I may look a wally I would push him round in a pushchair.

My dog hurt his paw a few months ago and couldn't walk very well and he was hobbling about. I couldn't bear not to let him enjoy himself somehow so I took him out for a drive in the car twice a day. He loves being in the car and I felt better knowing I'd given him a change of scenery for a while, rather than him just being confined to the house or garden. My fiancee thought I was mad doing this but I wouldn't want to be stuck in one place all day and as my dog is very lively and loves going out I didn't think he'd enjoy it either.

People probably see you walking your dogs anyway so they'd soon get used to you taking him out in his new set of wheels :) My dog gives me so much joy that I'd do anything to keep him chirpy.

I have one of these which I bought in order to take my cat to the vets. As I have problems with my shoulders, the walk to the vets whilst holding a cat carrier is painful and difficult for me. The pet pushchair makes it so much easier.

Yes, I get some really funny looks and feel like a bit of an idiot, but I don't care as it does the job. Funniest thing was when a bus driver stopped so that I could cross the road and then looked down to see the "bairn" in the pushchair - the expression on his face when he saw it was a cat was hilarious!

Most people smile and you can see them trying not to laugh, but I'm often asked about it and kids absolutely love it - they always stop in amazement and make a fuss of my cat inside. It's certainly a talking point!

I don't think it matters what others think of you, just think about if it will benefit your dog to be out and about with you. It's good for them to be outside for some of the day.
The only thing I don't like with these 'pushchairs' is that I have come accross a couple of people who are pushing healthy dogs around why?! Maybe it's a fashion statement or something, I must be past it!

    How big is your dog?
Perhaps a Pet sling or Pet-a-roo would be better and cheaper?
