I'm with you OP. I live beside a small playground. Most of the time there is some noise from it, but just normal children laughing, shouting a little bit etc. And I can tune this out no problem. But there are a couple of little girls and when they arrive the noise levels go up about 200%. They are screechers. And seem to infect all of the other kids with the desire to screech as well. I can't understand how the parents can cope with listening to that all the time.

Usually they take then to a playground outside.
