A win or a scam???

• Got the same e-mail. Sent a e-mail back with the sent t-mobile no on it. Got a reply back to say an SMS was sent to the t-mobile sim. Now I am with O2 and very happy and have no need for t-mobile as I know from previous experience the serves is bad. So in order to receive the price I will have to activate the sims yes I got 2 and put money onto them in order to read the SMS. I e-mailed them back asking to confirm that I have won but no reply back. My conclusion is the winning e-mail is a scam. I think someone will get commission on activation of all these sim cards. What we will get is probably an SMS saying we where entered into a competition and that's all. More worrining is the reply included my O2 username and password how they got that I don't know. Can anyone help to sort this out I am so angry but don't know what to do.
• This is the reply I got looks so strange.

Thank you Manuela,

An sms has been sent to the sim card(s).

I've just rung them again because I still haven't received a sim card and the bloke on the phone told me to email Mr Williams and explain the situation. He thought he would then send me another (he didn't ask me my name or any other details)

I also asked about the promotion and he assured me I had 'won' an iPhone 4 - the latest iPhone on the market - AND £500 of vouchers!! and that I would get all the information in another subsequent email after I had received the sim. (if that ever happens!)

Fingers still crossed a bit longer!!

This is the reply I got yesterday so its not good but sounds abit strange way of doing a comp as it sounded like the first email I had won.

Thank you for your email.

In order to be entered into the competition you need to have emailed us the t-mobile number(s) you were sent in the post and completed the sim card registration process (this does not cost any money). If you did not receive the sim card then unfortunately we will not be able to enter you into the competition. We cannot resend you the sim card as each number is unique and cannot be replicated, if this is the case then please keep an eye out for another competition coming soon.
Regards,
Henry

Starting to sound more and more like a way to get mobile phone numbers/other details and then start selling the details on once they know you've activated the Sim Cards.

Its highly unlikely that there are like 10 different winners of an iPhone 4 + £500 shopping vouchers.

• I also recieved a t mobile sim through the post and thought nothing more of it until i recieved the same email as others on the forum. I remember entering a competition a while ago for an i phone so sent the number from sim as requested (no reply yet). since then I have done a bit of googling ( if thats a word) the reply email was henry@ibitstore when i googled his email it seems he works for a company called SMH Marketing, if you go to their site they have ibitstore and a few other companies as clients. wether this makes it more likely to be genuine I dont know. I also found a facebook site which seems to be linked to Cairo. It will be interesting to see what happens from here.

I received this email too. I emailed back a number I had on the back of a T-Mobile sim, but the number isn't activated so I don't know if they've phoned or texted on that number.

They haven't replied to my email though, so I'm not holding out much hope that this is for real.
• Is it me or does this all seem to be taking a long time???
• Anybody heard anything yet??
