I bought one last week from Robert Dyas with the free taster flavours. We now know not to buy the apple one YUCK. It is so much safer from when I was a kid - do you remember the exploding bottles too? Fun thing for the kids to use but I will definately buy BLUE NUN just to see if Heston was telling the truth!!0

I love my sodastream, had it for about a year now.....and its great for taking camping as we dont have to take heavy bottles with us to have a fizzy drink.
Did try doing some wine in it......but failed miserably, it went everywhere!0 -
does anyone have any tips for fizzing smaller quantities? I would like to try the home made fizzy wine but don't want to fizz a litre! Same with apple juice. Would be great to be able to fizz a glass at a time.0

Hi
My kids want me to get this after seeing the adverts! We love Appletise and wondered if fizzing apple juice would give the same or similar taste?
Can anyone advise?

You can't fizz a glass at a time I am afraid, and you cannot fizz juice/squash/already concentrated/coke that has gone flat.
You need to fizz water and add the juice to the water. You can get it VERY fizzy if you fizz after you are supposed to stop so you could just add just a little bit to the juice if you want it really fizzy.
You cannot add the juice/squash/concentrate to the water first, it will go everywhere. And if you try and fizz anything other than water (and possibly Blue Nun - make of that what you will!!) it will just explode all over your kitchen when you press the button - trust me!!0 -
Fizzy wine workes for me but you need to take your finger off the button as soon as you start to hear the noise otherwise it will go everywhere. You also need to leave the bottle for a few minutes before you start unscrewing it, and unscrew the bottle very slowly in small bits rather than all in one go because if you don't you[ll end up wearing it!0
