We get ours at tesco - usually on the lower shelves on the cordial aisle (it's not coming up on their website, but they definitely do it - we just went again yesterday)
You normally have to take your empty one in and exchange it (at the till) for a new one - costs about £3 I think.
Lakeland also do them, as well as spare bottles etc: http://www.lakeland.co.uk/sodastream-replacements-AND-refills/F/product/12520_12521
You can also send them back to sodastream, details on the website: http://www.sodastream.co.uk/gbretail/Exchang-Programme.aspx
Finally, it's worth keeping a look out on freegle, as there are often spare gas refills, bottles etc offered on there (maybe less now, if it's all high profile again!). I know we got several spares this way (definitely worth keeping a full spare ready in the cupboard)

The CO2 refills are around £7-8 each for 'up to' 60 litres - round about 12p per litre.
The concentrates are around £3 each, for 'up to' 12 litres - round about 25p per litre.
That makes the combined cost of 2 litres of fizz around 74p - much the same price as a 2 litre bottle from a supermarket, and nothing like as good.
That's the reason Sodastream has periodically to reinvent itself for a new generation of consumers. Once the novelty's worn off, and the cost becomes clear, people go off it pretty rapidly................until the next generation of customers comes along.0 -
I dont care. . .
Thanks for this tip, i managed to resever the last one in our local store so i consider myself lucky.
My Girlfriend is going to properly love me when she gets it for her Bday in a few weeks time. That unless she buys one in the meantime and ruins it! That advert is on constantly and she wont stop going on about it. But fair play to them, it's a good Ad.
Lets get busy with the fizzy!0 -

You do not need to use their concentrates. I use home made elderflower cordial. Very refreshing, healthy and cheap.:beer:True Friends Are Hard To Find, Harder To Leave And Impossible To Forget.0 -
I agree use to have one years ago and I found it cheaper to get fizzy pop on offer
Its just a mimmick people tend to get put off after a while another useless kitchen gadget which seldom sees the light of dayThe CO2 refills are around £7-8 each for 'up to' 60 litres - round about 12p per litre.

But it still makes no sense to use a Sodastream to make carbonated water at 12p per litre, when you can buy it from Tesco (or wherever) at 9p per litre.
Sodastreams are a pointless, cumbersome and expensive way of producing carbonated water, I'm afraid, but they always manage to shift a fair number by heavy advertising before people realise how expensive they are to use and put them to the back of a cupboard.0 -
Very true.

Have to agree. I saw the new sodastream being advertised and went "oooohhh shiny new gadget" then I was reminded of the cost of the cartridges and them forever running out and the cost of the mix, which was always dire.
Then it didn't seem like such a cool gadget after all.:rotfl:0
