Orange Help Please

Hey,

I recently got a Samsung phone on contract with orange. When i got it home i have no WiFi signal and no 3G signal. I contacted the call centre and they told me to go into the store where i got the contract. I have been to the store and they say that they cannot refund/exchange or even swap the phone for the same model.

Considering I got the phone less than a week ago do i not have some sort of 'cooling off' period?

I have looked online and apparently i have Excellent coverage for 3G in my area so I can only consider it to be a phone fault!

Any ideas what i can do?

Cheers babes x

There's no cooling off period for anything bought in store. You only get that for things bought online or over the phone where you can't see what you're getting.

Do you get a 3g signal outside ?
Will the wifi work any where ? or does your router need a password ?

I'd take what any online coverage checker says with a pinch of salt, phone Orange and ask about the 3g signal in the area and whether there are any masts down/degraded. Do you get 3g signal anywhere? Does it work outdoors?
  • Nope doesnt work anywhere babe xoxo

Have you showed them in the store that the phone won't work ?

Seems odd that they won't do anything if they can see that it doesn't work at all ? You may not have a cooling off period by you do have consumer rights and anything you buy must be 'fit for purpose', and a phone that won't make calls isn't. . .
