Vodafone - Best Avoided?
Options
Sorry guys but it is a long saga. I have never known such poor internal communications for a telecoms company.
I wanted three handsets for my family, all straightforward and simple, however you cannot order three contract phones online. I decided to phone the sales team...
The sales person said I could have three handsets but I needed to pay a £100 deposit on my credit card refunded after 6 months. I agreed, then the consultant said I was aprroved for three handsets. I also asked if I could transfer the number from another Vodafone contract and was told the transfer team could do a change of ownership.
The sales person then said they could only order one handset over the phone and the rest would have to be done online, not a problem I thought, until I placed the online order and then was told I couldn't have three handsets in total, only two.
The credit department stated there wasn't problem and the eSales department system said something
different.
Finally a handset arrived only to be told I couldn't transfer the number from another Vodafone contract!!
So I decided to cancel all the orders and return the handsets as they has been missold.
However Vodafone say there is no record of the £100 deposit, although it has appeared on the credit card statement.
I have raised a dispute with Barclaycard over the £100.
Vodafone replied to a letter of complaint only to confirm their internal departments do not
have the facilities to communicate with each other.
So Vodafone where is my £100 desposit? Eight hours of calls and even an email to the CEO......nothing!
It seems some Vodafone staff are nothing but outright liars.
Be warned!
For information, after this debacle, I ordered all three phones online through T-Mobile, no hassle, no deposit needed and the handsets arrived after just 3 days!
