Now I'm Married who do I need to tell?

For some then you should tell them that you're married as it could/would (legally) affect who your next of kin is, obviously for others, it's just a name change....if you decide to change it!0

National insurance so you can get a new updated card.
When i got married there was a leaflet in the pack from registery office that had a list of who to call ( but that was 8 years ago). some places asked to see a copy of marriage cert .i'm sure i had to take a copy into bank.0 -

why do you need a new card? Will it change your number? And likewise the bank? I just don't get how it's relevant that you're married especially as we were already living togather. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite fond of my husband :rotfl: but even if one of us had an accident and the other needed to be their next of kin who's gonne dispute the fact that you're married? And surely that's the point you get your marriage certificate out?
Don't get me wrong, shout it from the rooftops if that's your thing but for me writing loads of letters just seems like one extra job in a life that already feels stretched to snappingUpdating soon...0 -

This is the list I give to client's when drawing up change of name deeds:
- Your employer.
- Inland Revenue
- Department of Health and Social Security.
- Doctor.
- Dentist.
- Department of Vehicle Licensing at Swansea.
- Passport Office. You can either have your old passport amended or get a new passport. It is probably better to get a new passport as some countries do not accept amended passports.
- Bank and/or building societies.
- Credit card companies.
- Finance companies.
- Premium Bond office.
- Investment companies.
- Companies in which you have shares.
- Pension companies.
- Insurance companies.
- Motoring organisations.
- Professional institutes and bodies.
- Clubs, societies and associations.

i am one of those persons who does shout it from the roof tops, lol. i'm in love i'm happy and i'm so proud of my family. i got married at 20, 8 years of marriage later we are still as happy as the day we met so why not. for me now i'm married it wouldn't seem right if i still had miss on letters as i'm not a miss any more. when i got married we didn't have children so i did have time to write and tell everyone and i enjoyed it.0 -
