Prob a daft Q r.e Virgin mobile

I currently have a Virgin contract which is still due to run for ide say at least a year so am stuck with that which is fine BUT i have the Lg cookie and to be quite honest I am getting fed up of it. It is a great phone and does loads but even with locking it, it still seems to find a way to call people due to it being touch sensitive. I also find it impossible in any light to send messages due to the screen.

I was walking past Argos this morning and saw a Virgin handset for £30, basic but dh has had and i really liked his so tempted to go get one..if not can i put my sim card in any Virgin handset?
