Something else I might do is grafted tomatoes - have you seen them? My uncle did them this year and although were slightly more expensive to buy as plants I have never seen anything like them - right now they are GIGANTIC and just laden with fruit....he's really pleased with them and having tasted them won't bother with any others next year.If Life Deals You a Lemon - Make Lemonade!! :j0

We have decided to grow more varities of the same plants instead of just one type. Didn't have time to think of that this year as we had a second allotment to get ready. One thing I must do is stop planting so many lettuces and caulies at the same time. We are eating salads every day whilst making batches of cauli and courgette cheese bakes for freezer. At least we are using up courgettes. I tried baking veggies today, courgettes, red onion, garlic, peppers, yum yum.0

I'll be attempting to grow my own seed of cucumber 'Tamra.' While Real Seeds had it this year, they don't expect to offer it again, so it may be over to gardeners to keep this shy-seeding variety going. Results this year suggest that's worth doing.

I've got the Lemon Drop chillis growing now, but they are slow compared with regular varieties. I've already had some American chillies picked while still yellow, though they'll probably improve as they turn red.0 -

They are easy to save seed from as well, just get a very mature fruit and scoop the seeds out.
Remember you need to grow at least two plants for pollination, or you won't get any fruit at all.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 - tomatillo
