Utterly bizarre then.
There must at some point have been a mess up in what default group/options accounts were given, as it certainly isn't part of the options that newly created accounts should have.

The option was deffo there before. It was to be found under
USER CP>EDIT OPTIONS> Then check the first box which was for Invisible Mode.
Seems that the Admin has removed this from the options in the AdminCP for all usergroups. They have probably set the global options to make everyone visible too as I cannot see th eforum upgrade changing the default profiles unless the new template reset thevalues
