I'd like to say thanks for posting this ScottRose, although I did read my T&Cs the language banks and credit card companies use tends to bamboozle me and I don't really take it in so found your post to be very helpful. It's not that I'm not intelligent ( although would that be such a crime? ) but it has taken me a long time to face up to anything financially related at all, hence my having a Vanquis card in the first place.
So far as a newbie I have tended to 'lurk' on the forum but wanted to post you some support and say thanks for answering a question I had wondered about.First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.0 -
Just checked with Barclaycard and it doesn't apply.
http://www.barclaycard-bw.com/media/bw_tc_cards_v1,4556,1.pdf
and neither with MBNA (Just 1 month)
https://www.mbna.co.uk/apply/UKCCapp/Ctl/link?eid=FFA53196
The MBNA kink above is broken, however, MBNA do charge interest over two months if the account hasnt been cleared in full at every statement(or at least the most recent previous statements). This is because, as izools has pointed out, they charge interest daily. Therefore on the second statement (or final statement in some cases) there will be a small amount of interest. This will have accrued from when the previous statement was printed (1st of the month for arguements sake) until the balance was paid (say 10th of the month)No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
