oh just have a laugh will you! not everything in life is to be taken with a pinch of saltbizarre
why speculate when you can know
I'm a father and if I knew my offspring were in financial trouble I would, subject to knowing the full facts, be willing to help
maybe others wouldn't but that's a personal choice
my point is, if i were to give my child money for a specific purpose, i'd be mighty !!!!!! off if they used it on something elseDebts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my Debts

sadly debt and not infidelity is the major cause of relationship breakdown
my point is that if you knew that your child had major debt problems then you would still insist that your money was used for an expensive wedding rather than contributing to clearing some of the debt?
(of course we don't know what the OP financial circumstances are as she hasn't told us)0 -

why not just speak to her father and make him aware of the situation and ask for his approval to use some of the money to help them get back on a more sound financial footing before the wedding and the rest for the wedding???
Her father probably doesn't know about any debts, I certainly don't tell my dad if I owe money on something, its a private thing when you become an adult IMO and not something that your parents are entitled to know about if you are an adult. Your financial matters are private unless you choose to discuss them with your parents still.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0
