Nationwide transfer in !!

My OH and I have experienced so much hassle with Nationwide transfers.
An ISA transfer from Skipton to Nationwide went very well and was completed satisfactorily. No problem!
Two Nationwide fixed-rate ISA bonds matured and we decided to re-invest in their 18 months FRISA at 2.75%, adding a cheque for this year's ISA allowance.
Approx one month later my paperwork was returned, stating the bond had been withdrawn, offering another bond. The new bond they were offering was exactly the same as the bond supposedly withdrawn.
I phoned and spoke to their customer assistant. He put me on hold, eventually returned and confirmed a mistake had been made, he would email the ISA deaprtment - problem would be rectified.
It wasn't!
Three weeks later, having heard nothing, I phoned asking for progress info. After going through their interminable menu system, I eventually spoke to an assistant. This time, there was (apparently) a problem with my cheque. It had been stamped over and nothing was visible! I asked to speak to a supervisor.
To cut a loooooooooooooooong story short - the next day I was ACTUALLY allowed to speak to such an exalted person!
Who couldn't help immediately but would phone back.
She did! Within 30 minutes!
After loads of terrible mistakes made by Nationwide, problems now resolved. The cheques were perfectly alright, it was a fault with their computer system.
We now have the certificates - approximately 2 months later! and hopefully won't have to go through this fiasco again for the next 18 months.0 -
Still, at least the NW board are paid enough bonuses to ensure that top executives are attracted.
Imagine how bad the customer service would be without these "top" executives ...?0 -

From my experience they are! Nearly 3 months to received FRISA certificate after transfer into Nationwide, then wrong interest percentage and payment time ie certificate stated annual interest, I wrote on the form I wanted monthly, and to top it off, wrong account number was entered on their screen. Then no interest end of July, Nearly 4 months to sort out, still not sure I will get interest into my account Aug, and no apology!!!!!!!! Not impressed with them at all.0

Well I have my fingers crossed for Santander.
As Nationwide have still not created my ISA, I started an ISA for this year with Santander, just to get my money into a decent account. They said I could move my previous balance from nationwide when it was all sorted out, whenever that will be.
Phone service was good, answered very quickly, seemed knowledgeable of everything I asked, so happy so far!0
