Hey raphanius,
When we launched the redesign of the forum we gave the user the ability to revert back to the old style, there is a chance you may have clicked that link.
Can you go to here-> http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/profile.php?do=editoptions and scroll to the bottom where it says "Forum Skin" and ensure that has New Look selected.
Thanks

EDIT it doesnt work....it worked once frm that link you gave me i shut that window and refreshed this window and its still the old site i shut ie8 and reopened it still the old site.

Make sure you have only one Internet Explorer window open and use that link again to set the style to the "new look".
That should sort it it permanently.

it would help if the moderator would reply to my queries because it looks like the site has issues with ie8Wins: 2008: £606.10 2009: £806.24 2010: £713.47 2011: 328.320 -

ok found the cookies thanks fermi (turns out most of my hd's content was hidden) and deleted two moneysavingexpert.com cookies. set the site style to default then to new look and it seems to be working. fingers crossed.Wins: 2008: £606.10 2009: £806.24 2010: £713.47 2011: 328.320

See, I always knew fermi was a genius

Firefox rules, and IE8 is absolute abysmal (it crashed on me earlier tonight just because AVG9 was updating itself, what on earth's that about?)0
