Top Table problems (we dont want one but OH's parents do)

who'd have thought that when your OH popped the question that x amount of time down the line youl be dealing with wedding politics *roll eyes smily*
and i hate politics at the best of times never mind one of the happiest days of our lives oh grrr!

i hope you get your banquet table, if not i think the next best thing for you would be the round tables wouldnt it x

Do what pleases you and OH most. We havent had this discussion in depth yet, but my dad is pushing for a traditional top table even though my fiance doesnt have contact with either of his parents!! Will reserve judgement til I go to see the venue in a few weeks and ask some questions then!

I think you should say you that the hotel only does sweetheat tables as it's the new thing and do the parents want to sit with anty whatever? I don't want a top table as such, I won't be able to have the traditional set up as it's sch a small wedding and few people know other people. How involved are they, could you just say yeah and then on the day of the wedding say 'you said you didn't want a top table I changed everything for you?'
