I currently have one of the 'old' o2 pay and go genie SIMs which gives me 300 free texts when I top up £10 a month.
I have seen the SIMplicity idea advertised, but I am a little confused by the wording.
I don't use my mobile phone a lot, and cope fine with 300 free texts a month, rarely use the mobile for making actual calls so when I do it uses up some of the £10 credit applied per month, which is also fine.
The SIMplicity deal I have seen offers unlimited free texts and 100 minutes on any network for £10 a month, but the wording suggests the £10 is taken from the applied credit, so in my head I work that out to mean I pay £10 to top up the phone and have credit on the phone and then o2 take the £10 off (leaving no credit on the phone) in order to pay for the unlimited texts and 100 minutes.
Have I confused the issue, or am I on the right lines? If I am thinking this through right, I'm probably actually better off not moving to SIMplicity?

i think you are on the right lines that they take your money when you top up , the thing with unmlimited texts though it does not include picture messages, where as your present tariff will (not sure if thats relevant to you)0

Simplicity only works out cheaper if you fully utilise the inclusive mins and text, which works out good value for £10 a month. But if you don't make anywhere near 100mins, then stick with the free texts for topping up. Think about moving over to O2 Text & Web, as this gives you free 300mins and Internet too for the same £10 topup on your old PAYG tariff and save the £10 credit for the occasional call/mms. If you are a low user, your credit will slowly accumulate over time, rather than having Simplicity deduct it each month leaving you with £0 balance.0
