Quidco for new 02 Sim Only deal

Hello I posted on ehre not long ago and was helped out to find a good tariff online of 300mins, unlimited texts and free mobile internet for £15pm.

My contract with 02 is up and I'm not fussed about a new phone so I signed up again as a new customer, (obviously allowed anyway) but my question is as I signed up through the quidco site for £100 cashback, where do I stand if I transfer my old phone number to the new sim card?

I have had the same number for years so would like to keep it, but would that affect the cashback? I know someone will be more clued up and there is no point asking 02 as they won't wanna know about Quidco etc anyway.

This is a bit of a pointless new topic I know but need answers before tomorrow when my new sim turns up if possible!

Thanks

You'd have to move your old number to another networks payg and then back to O2. Lots free payg sims on the net.
Get the pac for you old number, move to payg, wait a day or so, get pac for payg, move back to O2. Done. . .
  • Any idea if there's a time limit for porting a number to an O2 contract? When I originally moved from Orange to O2 a couple of years ago, I had the PAC before I signed up with my new O2 contract, but would it be possible to do this after a new O2 contract was set up? Are we talking a few days, or could it be say a couple of weeks after a new contract was set up?

So would it be possible to sign up for a new 12 month simplicity deal through Quidco to get £100 cashback, and then afterward port my existing O2 number to a random network payg then port back to the new O2 contract?

Oh right, because the CS woman said she could move my number over, wasn't sure if it would affect the Quidco or not. I'll try the PAYG option but seems like agg...cheers

If anyone was wondering, I've read elsewhere that if you have gone for this through Quidco, you should still get the cashback even if you do ask 02 to transfer your old phone number to the new sim... I think I will risk it

    That isn't necessary nowadays.

It's possible to get transferred directly from O2 to O2 using a PAC, which I've done, or without one, which other people have said here.

    A M8 in work has done a transfer from o2 to o2.
He got his PAC code, took out a new SIM only deal via Quidco then phoned o2 to use/transfer his number, was really quick, about a day to transfer !

Has he got his money from Quidco yet? Hope he had more luck that my November 2009 sim-only deal with Quidco/Vodafone (see separate thread) I am still waiting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you can easily transfer the old number to your new sim, but whether that affects Quidco I don't know, and it seems no one knows for definite.

I'm happy with the tariff but still want the £100 cashback if possible. Mine tracked today, at £25 for some reason?? I dont see how it matters if you change numbers after it's all tracked etc but i'm sure others know more than me.

Would ask O2 but cashback sites are obviously nothing to do with them really, just a 3rd party

I can't see why the phone number change would have any effect on the cashback. Your O2 account is also identified by an account number and that won't change

How did everyone else end up in regards to this offer?

I ended up receiving the £25 instead of £100. It must have been because I transfered to my old number?
