What if he is busy doing a driving lesson and the light comes on, is he going to pop for fuel while in the pupils time? This is usually frowned upon is it not? :)

I could be totally off the mark here, but im guessing your one of these who put's in £5 every couple of days rather than fill the tank????

Why not just completely fill the tank, then just refill it anytime past say 1/4.
You don't have to waste fuel by going off specially to find a petrol station and you don't risk expensive repair bills from running the tank dry and sucking sediment into the engine.

I fill up £65-£70 every 3 weeks and I just don't worry about it until im under 1/4, 3 whole weeks of not worrying about running out of fuel!!!

Before the days of fuel computors I just used to carry a can of petrol in the back. I'd let it go say as far past the warning light as possible, usually about 30miles or one gallon.

Latest car is a diesel and having experienced the problem of running one of those dry I'm a bit more cautious.

Strange thing is that on my car, not a Ford, the moment the light/bleeper operates the range indication zeros itself, ie reads
, It is usually about 70 miles as I've driven with the range on display. This again equtes to approx a gallon.

Carrying that extra3/4 tank of fuel around unneccessarily is like sitting 2 x 25 ltr/kg drums in the boot, not condusive to fuel economy.

Also I thought driving instructors deliberately took student to fill up to give them experience of refuelling and negotiating the filling station. Don't see the issue as long as it doesn't happen every week and he doesn't expect you to pay :D
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
