orange-changing tariff?

i renewed my contract a few months ago n now cant afford it. i rang orange 2 change the tarriff which the guy on the phone said he had done just found out they havent changed it so rang them n now theyre sayin they cant change my tariff to something cheaper as ive not long renewed the contract?? i then suggested cancellin it as i cant afford it n they wont reduce it n they want the full contract money up front to cancel. i've tried 2 do the decent thing n tell them i cant afford n dont really want to leave orange as ive never had any other problems. any ideas?

The only solution is to sell the phone on eBay or similar that you got with the contract and pay off the contract.

They use the following formula to calculate your ETF (Early Termination Fee) as they save money not providing you with minutes and no VAT on ETF.


They might let you move down tariffs. I know 02 did, provided you were 1/2 way through your contract length and could only move down a level once a month.
