BT offering financial incentive to switch to paperless billing

cant believe people are slagging BT off for offering the discount, they didnt have to do it, and no-one would have said something if they continued the old way.

Yes, they probably have some kind of an incentive for themselves, but hey atleast they are offering you something.

25p per month and a massive bonus for the environment.

there's moneysaving, and then there's outright greed! how much do some people expect BT to offer you for paper-free billing? they're offering 75p per bill, which is probably about as much as it costs them to send the bill out and an accompanying leaflet.

many people will have chosen not to receive paper statements from their banks as they can view them online, but how much do the banks offer? zilch, thats how much! all the banks do is offer you the green incentive, telling you it'll help the environment, when the real reason is to cut their costs.

so lets for once applaud a company for taking a step in the right direction

I got an email from BT saying that as from 27th October, all online customers will be automatically switched to paperless billing. No mention of a rebate but they will plant a tree for you. Online customers who still want a paper bill have to opt in (before 27th October).
